If you’re wondering how to assemble and maintain your IHC scooter properly, keep on reading.

What comes with a Blunt Envy Complete?

When you open the box to your complete there’ll be two scooter components: the handlebars and deck. Both items are packaged to prevent them from getting damaged. There’ll also be an instruction manual which comes with a 6mm allen key.

Straight out of the first packaging you’ll see the handlebar which comes with grips and fitted with a 2-bolt clamp. The second packaging comes with the fork and compression, headset, wheels, brake, and deck.

Assembling Your Scooter

To assemble your scooter, all you’ll need for this is the 6mm allen key included in the instruction manual.

1)    Loosen both bolts anti-clockwise. Once they’re fully loosened, you’ll be able to install it onto the base of the scooter.

2)    Install the handlebar to the deck-base. All you’ll need to do is directly put the handlebar over the top of the fork, ensure the wheel is nice and straight, and then tighten the clamp bolts clockwise until they’re hand tight.

3)    Check the scooter’s straight and tight. Once the installed handlebar and deck are nice and tight, there shouldn’t be any wobble between the handlebar and the fork. As well, it should be freely spinning. This applies for general maintenance as well.

Maintaining Your Scooter

Maintaining your scooter is important to keep it in a good condition. This will keep its longevity, meaning you’ll have a better ride for much longer. Let’s learn about some scooter maintenance tips to help keep your scooter looking and riding its best…

Extras you’ll need:
2 x 5mm allen keys

1)    Compression

Generally, the first component that comes loose is the compression, which includes the headset and the fork.

Grab one of your 5mml allen keys, insert it into the top bolt, and turn until it’s about hand tight. To tell whether it’s too tight, it won’t spin freely, but as well if it’s too loose, it’ll be wobbling.

2)    Wheels

Next most common part of the scooter to come loose is the wheels – both the rear and front. Grab both 5mm allen keys, insert them either side, and hold one while turning the other. To determine whether it’s too tight, generally the wheel won’t spin and if it’s too loose it’ll be wobbling between the fork or the rear of the deck.

3)    Brake

Next most common components to come loose on the base of the scooter is the brake. All you’ll need for this is a 5mm allen key. Insert it into the top bolt of the deck and turn it clockwise until it’s hand tight. You’ll know its tight once there’s no movement between the brake and the deck.

How to Dial Your Scooter with IHC Compression

Now that we’ve run through how to assemble a complete scooter, Envy rider Will Scott is going to show you what a nice, healthy dialled scooter should sound like (and what it shouldn’t!!):

If your scooter sounds like the undialled example, either your wheels, compression, brake, or handlebar is loose. If this is the case, go back to Step 1 and ensure everything’s nice and tight.
